Gaga's Always Dreamed of Living on the Radio

Gaga debuted Living on the Radio live at her St. Paul, Minnesota show.  The song is a piano driven ballad, that kind of reminds me of a "Beatles type song".  Gaga sings that living on the radio has always been her dream. And that now her dream has come true its led to even bigger dreams, all because, she's living on the radio. Selling out shows, eating caviar, making music all because her songs are living on the radio.  The song has a dreamy feel to it, I guess because she's talking about a life long dream of hers.  It's soft and somewhat sensual.  Sounds like something you'd hear playing in an artist's studio, house party or kool cafe.  Nice tune Gaga.  Gives me a bit of nostalgia.

Lindsay Goes Monroe, Talks of Her Own Trauma

Vanity Fair's October Issue

Miss. Lohan is the covergirl for the October 2010 issue of Vanity Fair.  She sat down with the mag just before her stint in the BigHouse.  In the interview she talks of the trauma her dad has caused her and that she's still not over it.  She is adamant about not "abusing drugs". In fact she tells contributing editor, Nancy Jo Fields this:

  • “If I were the alcoholic everyone says I am, then putting a [SCRAM] bracelet on would have ended me up in detox, in the emergency room, because I would have had to come down from all the things that people say I’m taking and my father says I’m taking—so that says something, because I was fine.”
  •  “I’ve never abused prescription drugs. I never have—never in my life. I have no desire to. That’s not who I am. I’ve admitted to the things that I’ve done—to, you know, dabbling in certain things and trying things ’cause I was young and curious and thought it was like, O.K., ’cause other people were doing it and other people put it in front of me. And I see what happened in my life because of it.”

She also says she knows she's "a damn good actress!" And is looking forward to proving herself in her upcoming roles, particularly the Linda Lovelace film.  Hmm.. Just hope she stops the partying and really gets to work.

Tonight during ABC's Bachelor Pad they announced their new cast of stars.  Something many have been waiting for.  The show's not really my cup of tea but you don't really have to watch it to keep up with what's going on with it, since it's a soap opera within itself.  So here goes Season 11!

The four that I'm most interested in watching are Brandy, Bristol Palin, Rick Fox and The Situation.  Also along for the dance are Jennifer Grey, Kurt Warner, Michael Bolton and David Hasselhoff.  Followed by Audrina Partridge, Margaret Cho and Kyle Massey.  So will it be another eventful season? I'm sure the Tabs all hope so.

Although not female that doesn't mean that Earl can't be just as destructive.  Today his growing power prompted warnings from FEMA to Puerto Rico, The U.S. Virgin Islands and even the Eastern Coast.  There are no warnings for the U. S. Mainland, however FEMA said that there could still be extreme weather for states up and down the East Coast.

By Monday Earl reached a Cat 4 with winds up to 135 mph (215 kph).

An Historic Weekend

Dr. Martin Luther King giving his "I Have...Image via Wikipedia
This was one historic weekend!  First Saturday marked the 47 year anniversary of Dr.King's (August 28th) I Have A Dream Speech.  A speech that helped to transform America.  An America where equality in the American Dream could be achieved for all regardless of race, gender or religion.

It's an America that we continue to strive for. But I am sure that Dr. King would be more than proud of where America is today.

On Saturday, Rev Sharpton held a march/rally in DC. The march ended at the site of MLK's future memorial. Many attended and spoke of the Dream and his (MLK)social message/policies and the need for us to continue to stay focused.

Sunday August 29th, marked the five year anniversary of Hurricane Katrina.  New Orleans continues to make progress, but has a long way to go.  They are a city whose undying spirit continues to flourish.  CNN, MSNBC, NBC & TVone all had specials dedicated to the five year anniversary.

Also on Sunday, we celebrated the King of Pop's Birthday he would have been 52 years old. His fans all over the world celebrated for their beloved king.

The Pres Talks About NO & 9th Ward Fights Back

Katrina taught me many things about the government and politics. But the most important thing it taught me was to become politically aware! It is just as important for me to keep on top of current events and politics as it is for me to keep up with HipHop, fashion  and sports. We must stay aware and on top of politics. We have to be armed mentally much more than physically. Watching CNN & MSNBC is just as important as watching BET, MTV, CBS, CW.......
