Jay Celebrates His Grandma's 85th NYC Style

Jay-z boasted on the Blueprint, Grandma Loves Me, She Made Me Banana Pudding. Will according to FUSE -via-OK! Magazine, last week Jay showed his love for his grandma.  By taking her out for a night on the town.  Jay along with, wife, B picked up his grandmother (Hattie White) in a chauffeured Rolls- Royce and then took her to Liberty Warehouse.

Liberty Warehouse is a 5Star Brooklyn restaurant that offers views of the Statue of Liberty.  I'm sure the Carters made sure that Grandma was pampered and treated like a true queen.  The party dined on Southern cuisine and were entertained by the dancers of the Boys and Girls Club.

Jay has recently said that he is putting more time into family.  By way of time and splurge, he states: That's what I enjoy. That's the payback for all the hard work.

Anderson Cooper Interviews Eminem for 60 Minutes (10/10/10)

Eminem headed home to his childhood neighborhood to have a chat with CNN's Anderson Cooper for a 60 Minutes special which aired this past Sunday.  The interview took place during his Home And Home Concert Series, he had in September with Jay-Z.  A concert series that he says for the first time he performed sober.  

Em goes on to talk about his rough childhood growing up in Detroit's 8 Mile.  He says that he has always thought himself as a fighter.  Saying he's been fighting his whole life.  He for the first time candidly talks about being bullied, beat up and in shoved into  lockers.  He was mostly harassed  for "just being the new kid".  Because of his mother's own struggles with drugs he often found himself going to two-to-three different schools a year.  

Some other things he talks about are being white in the Hip Hop World.  His process of  "stacking ammo;" he stores words, sayings and ideas in boxes.  Anderson tells Em it's something he sees whenever you study a crazy person.  In return Em chuckles, maybe I am crazy.  It is a very nice piece.

Rihanna's still in the UK promoting her upcoming album, Loud (Novemember 16).   Last night she took time out of her promotion schedule to have a romantic dinner with her boyfriend Matt Kemp.  The two had dinner at Sketch restaurant.

Alicia Continues to Make Good on Her Keep A Child Alive Pledge

On September 30 the stars were shining bright on Alicia Keys' Keep A Child Alive charity.  Her charity provides HIV/AIDS medicine for children in Africa and India.  She held her annual Black Ball in NYC, which raised $2.4 million.  Alicia performed and so did Jay & Sade.

B Surprise of Today

Beyonce took time away from her studio sessions to surprise the ladies of the Today Show.  Her mom, Tina was on the show presenting Dereon's latest.  And as they were awaiting the final model Mrs. Carter strutted out in a black dress and the ladies loved it.
