Video News: Beyonce' Rocs Givenchy, Haute Couture for "Girl" Video; Rocs Crown, It's Queen B!
News continues to come out about Beyonce's brand new single, Girl, it's a song about female (girl power) empowerment. It's said to be a club banga and simply AMAZING! Complete with African dancers and unbelievable drums. The track is said to have samples of Major Lazer's, Pon De Floor, which means the track is going to be heavy on the drums!
B is currently in California filming the video. Photos of her in the Mojave Desert roc'n Givenchy hit the net last night. B's dress is from their Spring/Summer 2011 Haute Couture line. News about the single and the shoot continue to be the topic of Blogs and Twiiter.
Via MTV:
In the new photos, Beyoncé stands in a smoky, post-apocalyptic war zone, wearing an elaborate headdress and holding a battle flag aloft (and it sure looks like said flag is emblazoned with a big "B"). She's surrounded by an army of dancers, each of whom is dressed in what could charitably be called "Les Misérables" chic, their fists thrust triumphantly in the air.

Video News: Beyonce's "Girl" To Be About Female Empowerment
News continues to hit the net about Beyonce's first single, Girl, which she is currently in LA shooting the video for now. Roc4Life reports that there will be about 200 female dancers in the video and that the video and the song are about Female Empowerment. The video is being directed by, famed director, Francis Lawrence.
Via Roc4Life/ONTD:
The theme of "Girl" is like a female empowerment/girl power type of song that is a definite club banger with Top 40/Worldly appeal. The beat is driven by a sample of a popular club song that a lot of you will probably recognize. There's a breakdown in the song that is described as absolutely f-cking disgustingly sick! Definitely an anthem in the style of her singing. My friend couldn't remember exact lyrics, but "Girl...girl....girl" is repeated a lot through out the song.
No males will be dancing except these 2 African men that do this sick solo African intro with footwork at the top of the routine. There may be more, but at the meeting today only those 2 men were dancing. Bey will have an army of like 100 or more girls. 20 of them will be doing the choreography with her and there will be like 100 of them behind her carrying sticks and marching. Men will be used as props and actors with the girls coming all in their faces and intimidating them. Again, the concept wasn't revealed so that's just connecting the dots with the choreography and small information that was given. It definitely looks like Bey will have an army or lesion of girls for one of the scenes that is presumably being shot on the 13th. Expect a full out dance number with lots of choreography. Royal News, Queen B Edition: Video Diaries, Beyonce', New Single "Run The World (Girls)"; Filmed in LA 4/11-4/13 (Updated with Full Trailer & Single)
It seems like Beyonce' did in fact begin work on her new video today in LA. News is hitting the net via the dancers who attended today's auditions. Sources continue to say the single is called, "Girl." And like previous reports the word is the single is: AMAZING! The song is about female empowerment and reportedly revolves around B and the other beautiful women in the video.
The single has a club vibe and samples Major Lazer's, "Pon De Floor". Patiently waiting, can't wait to hear B's vocals over this banger! I'm sure it's heavy on the drums. I can definitely see why she's incorporating Afrikan Dance. Word is that over 200 dancers showed up and that two Afrikan male dancers will perform during the dance intro for the video.
Video Rumors: Beyonce' Filmed Video in LA This Weekend? Flew In 200 Afrikan Dancers? Taking Her Dance 2 The Next Level!
Website Sister2Sister.com is reporting that Beyonce' will be filming scenes for her first video today (Sunday, April 10) in LA. They report she'll be "bringing" 200 Afrikan Dancers to LA to make sure that the dance sequences in her video are out of this world and B'yond anything she's ever done before.
The name of the first single is rumored to be called, "Girl" . The dancers will be incorporating traditional African Dance into B's dance routines. She has done hints of African inspired dance in her "Crazy in Love" and "Deja Vu" videos.
But, it looks like this time B is upping the ante, this go around. She has said, that Fela Kuti is a big inspiritation for the album. As well as '70s and '80s music, which also had strong hints of Afrikan inspired rhythms, especially the live drums and horns that trademarked those periods of music. Life instruments will be a big part of the album, as well.
