Uprising in Egypt Continues!
For a second straight week the people of Cairo, Egypt and other Egyptian cities have been in protest of their President, Hosni Mubarak. Tensions in Egypt have been brewing for quite some time now, as the gaps between the poor and upper class have continued to blossom out of control, and also because of a lack of basic civil liberties.
They are fighting for freedom of speech, press, assembly, and a right to the Democratic process. Also at the forefront is economic reform. It has becoming increasingly more difficult for Middle and Working Class Egyptians to afford both housing and food costs. Things are so bad that many aren't able to marry, because they can't afford the taxes and fees for the licensing. There are doctors, teachers and government workers who are struggling to buy food after they pay their housing rents.
At this point it appears that "revolution" is near. The citizens are calling for Mubarak to step down. The gatherings have become larger and the army has refused to fire at the People. In an attempt to gain some control over the situation, President Mubarak suspended cellphone and internet usage over the weekend. That didn't stop YouTube Videos, Tweets and Facebook feeds from getting out.

Tomorrow they have declared the "March of Millions" where millions are expected to gather in Tahrir Square. It is reported that the government will block cellphone usage once again and maybe internet coverage as well.

Lady Gaga's "Born This Way": All About Self Empowerment
Gaga, tweeted the lyrics to her first single for her second album, Born this Way. The track, is the title track to the album and judging from the lyrics, it's all about Self Love & Respect. Gaga will perform the track at the 53rd Grammy Awards on February 13th, the same day the track debuts.

Alicia Keys & Swizz Beatz: Enjoy Knicks Game
Alicia and Swizz took in the Knicks game on Thursday. And they along with the rest of the hometown crowd got to see the Knicks beat Miami. Sweet! The final score was 93-83.
In other Knick news Amare Stoudemire will become the first New York Knick to start in an All Star Game in over 12 years! The fans really got the vote out for him. Keep up the good work Amare.

Rihanna's video for her third single, S&M, will debut on 2/1/11 on VEVO. In the video it is said that Rihanna will be taking on her critics and the paparazzi as will.
In the "First Look" footage, she can be seen holding the paps hostage. That's definitely a role reversal, as I'm sure that she's felt like a hostage to them many times.
She sports different shades of pink latex and appears to stay true to the song's name sake, as she has an assortment of handcuffs, whips and chains. As can be seen in the video clip below.

Willow Smith to Remake Annie?
It looks like the Smith Family might be remaking another childhood favorite: Annie! This time however it looks like it will be Willow starring in the leading role. Annie was one of my favorite movies as a little girl.
I L-O-V-E-D IT! I have a special connection to the movie. I'm glad to see it being re-done. Can't wait to hear Willow's version of Tomorrow. And how will they re-do the famous red dress?

Dad Will is said to be producing the re-make -via- his and Jada's production company, Overbrook Entertainment. Sony Films will release it. According to Variety, Jay-Z will "oversee" the music for the film through Roc Nation, which is also Willow's record label. Jay has a bit of history with the film's music, as his first big pop hit, Hard Knock Life, samples one of the musicals biggest numbers.

Beyonce' to Remake "A Star is Born" & Clint Eastwood to Direct

The original debuted in 1937 and starred Janet Gaynor and Fredric March. The most popular of the remakes came in 1976. It starred Barbra Streisand alongside Kris Kristofferson.
The producers of the Streisand version, Billy Gerber and Jon Peters, are also said to be producing the current remake. The film is being headed by Warner Bros. At present, they're still searching for the right leading male, but names being mentioned are Will Smith, Robert Downey, Jr. and Jon Hamm. The original film's plot was about an aspiring actress who falls in love with a troubled movie star, who helps her get her big break. It is also being reported that this version will be an all out musical production.

Jay-Z on Oprah: The Aussie Experience

Jay was in Australia back in December as part of his tour with U2. While there he recorded an episode for Oprah's Aussie Experience. Well the show finally debuted today. During Jay's segment Oprah talks about his book, Decoded, she even reads an excerpt, which she credits to changing her negative views on Hip-Hop. Jay even fulfills a teacher's wish, when he visits her school and speaks to her students about hopes and dreams.
