Queen B: Beyoncé Set to Play Queen Tara in Animated Film 'Epic"



B will be starring in her first animated 3-D film.  She'll be playing Queen Tara in Epic --how appropriate, because B is a Queen and she's definitely epic.

Epic is by the makers of Ice Age and Rio. The film will also star Colin Farrell as Ronin, The Hunger Games‘ Josh Hutcherson as Nod, Amanda Seyfried as Mary Katherine, Johnny Knoxville as Mandrake, Aziz Ansari as Mub, rapper Pitbull as Bufo, Jason Sudeikis as Bomba, and Aerosmith and American Idol frontman Steven Tyler as Nim Galuu.

The film is described as a battle deep in the forest between the forces of good and evil. When a teenaged girl finds herself magically transported into this secret universe, she must band together with a rag-tag team of fun and whimsical characters to save that world, which in turn saves the real world.

Queen Of The Stage: Beyoncé Simply Incredible...Takes Over Revel

I had the pleasure of attending Beyoncé's, Saturday show at Revel this weekend.  The show was simply amazing.  B took my breath away.  Her vocals, dancing, wardrobe and overall stage performance was top notch.  She really put together an amazing show.

The evening started with opening act Luke James who warmed the crowd up.  About 15 minutes before B came out our FLOTUS arrived. Mrs. Obama was stunning in a green dress.  She, Sasha, Malia, and a couple of their friends sat in the upper balcony next to Gayle King.

By the time B came out the crowd was already in a frenzy.  She opened with one of my favorite 4 tracks "End of Time".  She had us with the first foot stomp.  She surprised us with "Schoolin' Life".  Had us going crazy when she performed "Dance For You".  And paid tribute to Whitney and Donna Summer.

Also showing off their photo shoot freshness, were Kanye & Kim.  Who are in Cannes for the Cannes Film Festival.  Kim --who's been in the UK with Kanye, while he and Jay are touring Europe for their Watch The Throne Tour --attended  the premiere of Kanye's short art film "Cruel Summer".  Congrats Mr. West for your Cannes premiere.  Of course Jay was out to support his little brother.

King Hov: Jay-Z & Roc Nation Release First Performers for "Made In America" Music Fest

It looks like Pearl Jam will be co-headlining the Budweiser Made in America Festival which, Jay is curating.  And in true Jay fashion, it's shaping up to be a pretty diverse group.  There's Maybach Music, Santigold, Afrojack, Odd Future and Calvin Harris.  So far Rita Ora's the only Roc Nation artist to be announced.  Guess Cole and Jay Electronica will be announced in the next round.  The fest will have 28 acts and only 16 have been announced.

Jay &Ye kicked of their European Tour for Watch The Throne in London, Friday night, at the O2 Arena.  King Hov was in form and as usual tore down the stage... Kanye roc'd out too --the two performed over 40 songs --performing hits from both their solo catalogs and joint collaboration.

King Hov: Jay-Z Attends UK Premiere of "Men in Black 3", Dines at Zuma With Kimye & Gears Up For "Watch The Throne" Euro Tour

Jay-Z is in the UK, getting ready to take it over with his and Kanye's critically acclaimed Watch The Throne Tour, they will tour Europe through June.  The kickoff is this Sunday, May 18.  

Jay wasted no time jumping into the UK scene.  Last night he attended the UK premiere of good friend and business partner (they have a movie deal) Will Smith's, much anticiapted Men in Black III.  Hov was in all black everything... just perfect for the occasion, but then again Hov's always photoshoot fresh.

He then met up with little brother, Ye and Kim for dinner at Zuma restuarant in London. Check out pix of the Royals below.

In The Know: The FLOTUS Talks Excitment for Summer Olympics & "Let's Move"

Our First Lady is overjoyed to be leading the U.S. delegation at this summer's Olympics in London.

She spoke with Access Hollywood's Billy Bush about watching the Olympics with her family as a child.  The First Lady's pride and joy could be heard in her voice and seen on her face throughout the interview.

She also talked about the "Let's Move" initiative which will be responsible for many changes in next year's school lunch system.

King Hov: Jay-Z Talks to MTV About Designing Nets New Logo & Jay Electronica's Debut ROC Album

When Jay was in Philly on Monday he sat down with many major news outlets to talk about the Budweiser Made In America Music Festival.  MTV was one of them --Jay chatted with the music channel about music, work and his role in helping to design the Brooklyn Nets logo.  He says the black and white is a nod to New York's original black & white subway signs.  It's so New York.  Sweet!

The POTUS sat down with the ladies of The View to talk family, politics, equality and his vision.  He was comfortable, relatable and most of all charming.  The President talked at ease about the First Lady and the girls -Sasha and Malia teasing him and treating him like a regular dad.

Yesterday Jay and Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter came together for a press conference in Philadelphia to announce the Budweiser Made in America Music Festival this Labor Day Weekend: September 1 & 2.  Jay will both curate and headline the event, which will have 28 performances in two days.

The Carters: Jay-Z Attends New Launch of D’ussé Cognac, Releases "Made In America" Teaser & Set to Head Overseas For The Summer

Jay's gearing up for the European Leg of his and Kanye's critically acclaimed and hugely successful Watch the Throne Tour. The tour kicks off Sunday, May 20 in London at the O2 Arena.  

But before her goes overseas Hov's been taking care of business stateside.  

First he helped launch D’ussé (dew-say) Cognac, Wednesday night with sister-in-law Solange, good friend --and often collaborator-- Pharrell, and Jake Gyllenhaal along with a host of others at the jammed packed --private event held at The Standard Hotel in NYC.

D’ussé is a VSOP cognac made by Bacardi and will hit stores nationwide in September.  The price is $44.99 and will compete with Hennessy.  

Then on Friday, Jay released a 24 second video teaser with the title --"Made In America"-- some wondered if it was a promo for the European Tour, or a video teaser for Throne track "Made In America" or something entirely different.  It was teaser was typical Jay --it kept us all guessing and wondering.

According to Global Grind, it looks like the video might have something to do with Jay & Philly:

Following the release of the aforementioned cryptic video, Jay-Z's publicist sent out a media alert stating that Jay will be making a major announcement alongside Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter this Monday in Philly. No word on what exactly the announcement may be in reference to, but we have a penchant that this video has something to do with it. 

And it looks like after B's finished with her four sold out Revel Shows Memorial Day Weekend she and Blue will be heading overseas to spend the summer with Daddy.  According to Global Grind the Carters are renting "a very posh 5 bedroom apartment in London Town" so that the family of three will be comfortable while working and playing:

"Both Jay-Z and Beyoncé are going to be spending a lot of time in London over the next few months. Jay is over here for his Watch The Throne Tour and Radio 1’s Big Weekend and Beyonce will be launching her perfume in Europe over the summer."  

The new parents do have their 4-month-old, Blue Ivy, to think of. The source says: “They wanted to have somewhere more homely now they are parents.” 

While Hov is making crib arrangements, his partner in crime Kanye West is just fine blowing stacks on hotel digs.

Yeezy reportedly booked a floor of posh central London hotel The Lanesborough and we're sure his boo Kim Kardashian will be dropping in on some tour dates.  

Mommy's Day Weekend: Tina Knowles Talks Beyoncé, Blue & Mother"s Day

Access Hollywood's Shaun Robinson sat down with Tina to talk Blue, B and Beyoncé's first Mother's Day --she says that she (Tina), B and Solange will all spend Mother's Day together at home in New York.

Tina blushed as she talked about her beautiful granddaughter, Blue, who she says that everyone's spoiling.  And according to the proud grandma, it looks like Blue's not only inherited her famous parents looks, she also inherited some of their characteristics too. Check the video to find out which ones.

Breezy let out his inner Rapper once again --this time freestyling to Kanye's "Mercy" & "Way Too Cold".  Nice.  Although, Mr. Brown did cause a little ruckus with one of his lines about an X in the "Way Too Cold" track.  Enjoy the tracks-- "Mercy" is below and "Way To Cold" is after the click. 



He also performed  "Turn Up The Music" on Dancing With The Stars on the double elimination show. And now he's back in the director's chair --directing the video for his new single "Til I Die".

The Carters: Jay-Z & Beyoncé Attend Erica Reid's Book Launch

Jay & B attended good friend Erica Reid's book party for the launch of her brand new book The Thriving Child.  Looks like the new parents will have a few extra tips for raising a happy, healthy Blue.  The Carters and Reids have been friends for years --even spending New Years in St. Barts together.

Also at the party was Mr. LA Reid of course, Mary J. Blige and Mama Tina.  Erica looked happy and was surrounded by love.  I luv to see... happy and healthy friendships and relationships!!! Sweet...

Last night in addition to stunning on the Met Gala red carpet B spoke with ET about mommyhood. And Access Hollywood talked about B owning the night, but we all knew that.  The Queen was simply stunning last night in Givenchy haute couture!!! Check out both videos below.

The annual Met Gala always brings out beauty, couture and the inner Diva.  And last night B, Gwyn and Solo had all three on display.

Beyoncé was picture perfect.  The Met Gala marked her first red carpet appearance, since becoming Blue's mommy.  And Mrs. Carter didn't disappoint and neither did her little sis and BFF.

B stunned in a Givenchy Haute Couture gown, by Riccardo Tisci, which hugged her hourglass in all the right places. Lace, sequin and a purple ombré train --oh my!!!  The Queen was in full Diva Mode.  And I Luv it!!!

Solo roc'd a canary yellow gown by one of her favorite designers and good friends Rachel Roy, who she attended the gala with.   The gown was perfect both in fit and hue. She looked simply gorgeous.

Gwyneth roc'd a pale lilac Prada dress with matching Prada shoes. It was sexy and flirty, just like Gwyn. And it fit her perfectly! I'm sure all three ladies enjoyed their night.

B News: Beyoncé Adds Fourth Revel Date

Due to popular demand the Queen has added a fourth Revel show.  The fourth show will be on Memorial Day, Monday, May 28.  Tickets for the show will go on sale this Friday May 11.
