Hov's House: Jay Z & Brooklyn's Barclays Center Becomes #1 Venue in U.S. Ticket Sales

The Barclays Center opened with eight sold-out Jay Z shows and it hasn't looked back since.  The House that Hov Built--okay I'll give the Nets some props too--is now the #1 ranked venue in the U.S. in ticket sales.  The arena raked in $46.9 million in its first year, alone.

Barclays ranks No. 3 worldwide in number of tickets sold and No. 2 globally in gross ticket sales revenue.  It is the top venue in the U.S. for ticket numbers and gate revenue, and second in the world only to the O2 arena in London.

The New York Daily News reports, it (Barclays Center) also sold three times more tickets than, its Manhattan neighbor, Madison Square Garden:
Brooklyn’s in the sold-out house. The Barclays Center, a magnet for music superstars during its first full year of business.  The new arena sold 657,423 tickets to concerts and family shows between Jan. 1 and June 30 — the highest figure in the U.S., Pollstar reported. The only buildings on the planet with better ticket sales numbers were the O2 arena in London and Manchester Arena in England — and only the O2 outgrossed Barclays Center.
How sweet it is.  How sweet it is.
