R.I.P Whitney, Whitney Houston Passes Away at 48; The Music World Loses Another Legend to Soon

August 9, 1963 - February 11, 2012

Today the Music World lost a legend.  Whitney Houston died today in Beverly Hills at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.  She was scheduled to perform at Clive Davis's famed pre-Grammy Party tonight.  She's also a part of the Sparkle remake which is set to hit theaters this Spring.  It seemed like things were moving in the right direction for Whitney.

This is such a sad occasion.  Whitney was an artist that I loved and was always rooting for and hoping for her return to the spotlight.  This truly saddens me.  My heart and prayers go out to Bobbi Kristina and the entire Houston Family.

"I can confirm that Whitney Houston was pronounced dead at 3:55 p.m. at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. We received a call at 3:43 p.m. from hotel security and Beverly Hills Fire and police responded minutes later," Beverly Hills Police Lieutenant Mark Rosen tells PEOPLE. "It's unclear who notified hotel staff because she has quite an entourage here at the hotel. We attempted to resuscitate her, to no avail."  (via PEOPLE)
